About Mel & Marcel

Mel & Marcel are an alternative pop duo from Manningtree, Essex, formed by artist and songwriter Melanie Winning and musician and actor Marcel McClarnon. Their music grew from songs Mel began writing during the Covid lockdowns, with Marcel arranging, recording and producing them in their home studio.

Drawing on punk, alternative pop, Leonard Cohen, Nina Simone and an eclectic mix of influences, the pair create original songs with dark humour, strong melodies and lyrics inspired by everyday life. They perform across Essex, Suffolk and London and continue to release new music independently.
