We first met Mel & Marcel by accident in a wine bar when they were doing a local gig. We were very impressed by their uniqueness. Mel has a distinct singing voice, Marcel has extensive musical talents. A match made in heaven and we love their lyrics, which are based on real life, people and circumstances. They are great fun and we try to go and see them whenever possible. I asked her to write a song on menopause which she did Hot Hot Hot I love it!

Sometimes flagged up as 'The Lee & Nancy of South London' (although that should be Essex), Mel & Marcel are in fact something rather different, something resolutely English and yet life affirmingly cosmopolitan. Their music is kitchen sink observational and awash with acid wit, but always generous of spirit and intelligent.... just like them's good selves! Marcel is a former railwayman with a punk rock past, Mel has been a make up artist, pop singer, trod the boards, sung in The Rocky Horror Show, attained a Masters in Illustration and generally been an all round Renaissance Woman... and together they make this fabulous music with ace lyrics and a Bohemian kind of bonhomie..
